Reaching old age is a gift for our furry companions, considering their short lifespans. Senior dogs simply crave love and care, which is precisely what Misty, a 7-year-old pure blue tri-colored German Shepherd, longs for. The daily kindness shown by RCHS volunteers assures Misty that she is in a secure and affectionate environment but she sure desires a home of her own. Witnessing her joyful transformation evolve into a confident and contented dog, any family will be blessed to be the object of her affection. Maggie and Houdini
Meet Maggie and Houdini, left scared and alone after being dumped on Mountain View Road in Gualala. The story about these two abandoned 8-month-old husky puppies with only each other to rely on will tug at the heartstrings of any animal lover. Thankfully they are safe and now have a chance at a new life all thanks to our compassionate Menodnoma community dedicated to making a difference for these neglected puppies. These two sweet husky mixes are in search of patient and caring families who can understand their past traumas and provide them with the love and security they deserve in their forever homes.

Meet the dashing Woody! This sweet 9-month-old heartthrob is a mix of Bully and Cattle Dog, fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Now all this special pup is missing is a loving family with the time and patience for a bubbly, happy-go-lucky teenage pooch with a twist - Woody is deaf. To keep Woody safe, a fenced yard is a must-have accessory. This clever pup has picked up some hand signals and is eager to learn more. He's a pro at walking on a leash and loves to have a rough and tumble playtime with his best shelter buddy, Bear. After spending three months with a foster family, Woody is house-trained and bedtime crate-trained.

Riley
Riley, a shepherd mix, came to us as a stray. We hoped to find his owner after a local community member found him on Tan Bark Road. With no response to our outreach, Riley is now fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and ready for somebody new to share his life with. He is about 7 yrs. old., under 40lbs, knows basic commands, house-broken and is a sweet, loving and playful boy. Looking for a new leash in sweet Riley’s life—and hopefully a new family to share it with! He deserves a loving and safe forever home. Camella
Camella is a happy and exuberant Chocolate Lab/Staffordshire mix. Her shiny eyes and big smile let you know how excited she is to meet new people. Her vet described Camella as a “perfect specimen” with “well defined muscles and a rich chocolate coat.” We just think she is a great girl. Camella will do best as the only pet in the household. A loving forever home with a fenced yard is the perfect setting for this girl. If you have room in your home and heart to give Camella a second chance at a new life full of love and attention, she will return it to you two-fold.
Baby Girl, Phat Boy, Phantom, Sandy, Thunder, Missy
One year old Labrador/Shepherd mixes ready to become part of your active family. They have been fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped by The Redwood Coast Humane Society. They are in need of socialization and leash training, but not an aggressive bone in their bodies. Thunder (male) is the only black remaining, but several male and female blondes are available.

Meet Ke-mo sah-bee “Kemo.” Kemo is a 3 year old American Bully mix. Kemo loves walks and playtime with his people. His big, happy Bully breed smile brings sunshine to any day. This sweet boy takes a minute to get to know but when you do, he is full of love, fun and adventure. Kemo would love to be the only dog in a household with a secure fenced yard to allow him room for his playful personality. Give this boy love and attention and he will be a loyal furever companion.
