We also do fund raising through our Redwood Coast Humane Society Newsletter which is published twice annually- May and November. Watch for our newsletter. It's a great way to keep up on what's happening here on the coast regarding pet adoptions, events, and lots of other fun information and news.
Our biggest fund raiser is 'Dog-Daze', a fun and laugh worthy event held every August. Doggie Musical Chairs, Best in Show, Doggie kissing Booth, raffle and lots of other great fun.
During the holiday season, Redwood Coast Humane Society has two ways to help out our local lost and abandoned animals
- Our Christmas tree at WestAmerica Bank from December 1 until Christmas day. Fill out a contribution form and hang in on the tree.
- Beginning two weeks before Christmas until Christmas Eve, RCHS wraps holiday presents for anyone who brings their presents to Sundstrom Mall, where we have wrap your presents for a minmal fee.
Volunteer
There are many ways to volunteer, ranging from dog fosering to writing articles for the news letter. You can choose to work from one hour a year to 100 hours a year. The choice is yours.
Foster
Redwood Coast Humane Society provides foster care for homeless and surrendered cats and dogs. Foster care includes attending to physical and emotional well-being of the animal. Under the guidance of the dog or cat coordinator, foster parents are asked to seek veterinary care, keep records regarding the animal in their care, and interview prospective owners. A volunteer will assist each new fosterer until he or she is comfortable as a foster parent or family.
